What happens to the heart rate data in Vivofit?

Is there a way to upload it into Garmin Connect to get HR information during exercise? I don't see any such report on my dashboard nor does it seem to be an option. But my Vivofit is displaying my HR data in real time. It seems a shame to waste that data and would be an unimaginable omission by Garmin. But the Vivofit manual doesn't mention this at all, nor does the Garmin Connect website.
