Mac not seeing Edge 810 and unable to login to Garmin Connect on iPhone

I've got a nagging occurrence when I connect my Edge 810 (software version 2.9) to my MacPro and select the Upload function. Each time my Mac only sees a 910 device. I previously had a 910 which has not been connected for at least 9 months. Anybody else with a similar experience?
I am also unabe to log in to Garmin Connect on my iPhone.
