Listen Up Garmin, I am Currently trying the Vivofit afterusing the Fitbit Force. I really like the fit bit But I really like being able to use a HRM with Vivofit.
I have to say i really miss the ability to log, track and graph body dimensions and weight with the fitbit. I don't think I'm the only one. You guys have it pretty good on tracking activities, but were you lack is the ability to put the results of ones work right there in front of them. Success is a great motivator(sounds like a great selling point.
I just noticed that the FitBit site allows for tracking ANYTHING. You can make a custom tracker.
While I like my vivofit more than what's currently available from fitbit, I'm not as happy with the Connect site as the FitBit site. Given how technology is quickly adapted by other manufacturers, Garmin really needs to get their site up to the fitbit site standards. Otherwise, when it's time to replace my vivofit -- and no technology lasts forever -- I'll be looking at fitbit really closely.
(It probably doesn't help that the fitbit scale is a little over $100, while the scale that works with Connect is close to a thousand dollars. This makes me less wedded to the Garmin infrastructure. Luckily I found a way of importing weight data to Connect's classic view. But if that goes away, and weight doesn't show up on the "modern" view, I'm far less likely to stay with Garmin.)
I think the weight widget is coming. Type this into your browser: http://connect.garmin.com/modern/weight In early advertisements for the vivofit and Garmin connect, the weight widget is clearly visible, so hopefully it will be implemented soon.
I second the request for the weight widget in the Modern profile. I've been using Garmin Connect for tracking my weight for years, and I'd hate to loose it.
I also hope the Health Report is not going away. I just got the Tanita bc1000 and Vivofit to add to my Garmin life stile and hope the make every thing all work together,
Please add percent body fat too!! I have lost over 80 pounds side last September and will hit my "weight" goal weight soon but want to start weight lifting and my weight will go up some. Monitoring body fat and having goals for that can be just as important as weight. I have had some weeks where I did not lose much weight but continued to see decreases in body fat and that has heeled me stay motivated on this long journey. I would think many of the Garmin customers that are pros also would like to track body fat here.
