Export to TCX not functioning

When trying to export a TCX file from any of my activities I get the following message:

Sorry, our site is temporarily down for maintenance.
Please check back soon.

I assumed that this might have been a temporary problem, but I haven't been able to export anything to TCX for the last couple of weeks.
• When you are looking at the details for an activity, you will see a URL like this...

connect.garmin.com/.../{activityId}

You should be able to download the activity by changing the URL to

connect.garmin.com/.../{activityId} (for a tcx file)
connect.garmin.com/.../{activityId} (for a gpx file)Travis
• That works, thanks.

Of course, that begs the question as to why Garmin haven't made the fix, given how trivial it should be to do so.
• I am guessing that the web team is relatively small and they are focused on getting the new Garmin Connect working for everyone. It seems that the rollout didn't go as well as planned, and some of the changes that were made may have unintentionally broken the classic Garmin Connect. At this point I think they're more concerned with making sure we have something to move toward than keeping the existing functionality up and working.

Again, this is just a guess.

Good Morning!
I'm facing the same issue, and i cannot export anything to tcx.I did what you mentioned with the url but it doesnt seem to work either
• I don't know what you could be doing wrong. If you log in to Garmin Connect and go to your activities page and click an activity, you will be taken to a page like...

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/46551377

This will show your activity details. If you take that URL and update it as above, you get this...

http://connect.garmin.com/proxy/activity-service-1.2/tcx/activity/46551377?full=true

If you go to that url, your browser should try to download the .tcx file for the activity.

Good Morning Travis. Thanks for your help.
I'm using Chrome to access my workouts.Additionally,I used the below,in order to download my tcx files.I'm using them as you mentioned.I m still getting the message Sorry, our site is temporarily down for maintenance. Please check back soon.

connect.garmin.com/.../459595484
connect.garmin.com/.../459594869

I really do not know what causes that mess.
• I get HTTP error 403 (Permission Denied). This is happening because you aren't sharing your activities with the public or any groups that I'm a member of. If you want to change the privacy setting for the activity, open it up here and click the lock icon in the grey action bar. Then click Everyone.

Good Morning Travis,i've made all the changes you mentioned, but i'm still getting the same error msg.
• I am unable to view either of your activities, due to the same permission denied error. I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to view them if you had shared them with everyone as suggested above. If your activities are shared publicly, you should be able to log out of Garmin Connect and view your activity here.

It is possible that there is some region specific issue that prevents this from working. I do know it works for me and has worked for others.

HI,

Got the same problem. Tried the workaround above but it did not help. Tried with both internet explorer and chrome so it does not seem to be any problem connected to the browser itself...
