Cadence not transferred to Garmin Connect from FR620

Hi,

Anyone have any problems with displaying the Cadence graph in Garmin Connect. It seems like the Cadence is registered and displayed on the FR 620 device, but when training sessions are uploaded to the Garmin Connect, no Cadence info displayed as a graph is seen. HR, elevation, pace, oscillations, and contact time are alle presented as graphs. Avg Cadence and Max Cadence are displayed on the left side of the screen.

Is there a setting that I am missing? Have anyone had the same problem? Please advice.

    Hello Lars,

Can you attach a copy of your file?

I have taken 2 other files from 620's that did the same as yours and run them thru the Fit File Repair Tool.
Those "fixed" files then loaded into my GC account and displayed all the graphs including Cadence and the player also showed Cadence.

Apparently the 620 is collecting all the data but then makes some minor corruption in the file such that GC cannot display the Cadence graph.

There may be nothing wrong with Garmin Connect but some files to look at might help figure things out.

I have the same problem along with a umber of other users. GArmin have indicated that this is going to be resolved with an update due out very soon.
  • It has been reported that changing the activity type to Running or Cycling, as appropriate, is a workaround for the graph not displaying correctly.

    Hello Enezue.s,

You can just export one of your rides from Garmin Connect.

It will be in TCX format but that is fine.

Thanks! That worked. Hopefully Garmin will fix the problem.

    Hello Enezue.s,

I got your TCX file that you exported from Garmin Connect.
Your file has no coordinates or elevation at all.
It looks like a file recorded with the GPS turned off or the coords were corrupt and GC ignored/deleted them.

I loaded your file into my GC and it displayed 3 graphs, Pace, Heart Rate and Run Cadence.
No Map or Player because they need coords.
I changed the activity type to 5 different ones and it still displayed only the same 3 graphs.

I have no idea why your GC does not display Run Cadence.
I changed your file by 4 seconds so you can load it into your GC without disturbing the original file.
Load it and see if you get Run Cadence.

Are you sure this is a problem with the FR620? I've gone back an looked at all of my runs stored on Garmin Connect. My last run that stopped displaying cadence data was Jan 28, 2014 my next run was Jan 30, 2014 and it has no cadence data from that point to now. (On Feb 23, 2014 it did record Cadence, but not Vertical Oscillation, Ground Contact, or Heart Rate).

I've imported the workouts into Endomondo and it displays the cadence just fine. I think its the Garmin Connect Website that is having the problem.

Ah-Ha! I changed the workout type to "Running" and it displayed the Cadence. I had picked a sub-category under running, "Street Running", it will not display.
  • yep, simply issue with garmin connect. anything other than running, will not display cadence...
