Having trouble transferring data from 310xt to Connect

Hello,

I have had my Garmin for a few months now and only really started using it in the past 2 months. I have timed my workouts and then was able to transfer my workouts via ANT+ agent. With the change to the new Garmin Connect and ANT + agent being disabled, the first 2 or 3 times I have not had an issue with the data transferring. Today, my watch shows a message Transferring Data, but the past 2 workouts are not appearing on the dashboard. I have followed the instructions on the troubleshooting guide and everything is set up properly and I tried logging a 10 sec workout. Nothing is changing. Not sure what else to do?

Having the same problems trying to get my data to transfer from the GPS to Connect via Garmin Express. Used to all work great, until a few weeks ago. Now I can't view data on my computer.

So, I would like to get a different device/brand that works better with the its related software, any suggestions?

Hi moved onto 310xt after years with 305. Am having same problems, uploads ok to sportracks but says uploading to Connect and screen locks. Have reloaded Garmin but not helped. Never had any probs with old style docking . No longer a Garmin fan!

This fixed my issue. Individual data transfers failed. I was able to do data transfers by selecting 'transfer all'. After I uninstalled Garmin Express individual transfers were successful.

    Hope this helps

same issues, somethings get uploaded other things do not. Transfer all worked for awhile but no longer works. However I have found a solution, besides uninstalling garmin express, unpair and repair your 310xt. This has worked for me!

JDLENZ > "There is a "Transfer All" setting on the 310XT that may help. Press Mode and select History. Scroll UP once and select Transfer All"

That is the best Garmin tip ever. I had no idea that was there, and it solved a problem where several tracks never uploaded (something that happens too often). Thanks much.

Honestly, Ant Agent and Garmin Express both have been sketchy at best for all the years I've owned Garmin devices. It fails occasionally and you just have no idea why. I really wish there were a simple interface to simply copy the dang files off the watch, and then I could upload them manually. The software is a total black box that works... merely sometimes.

    This worked for me.

i haven't had any trouble with my 310xt until today. after all of my activities I am able to return and upload without having to power off my 310xt. yesterday I did a race in a different state so i saved the data after the race and powered off my 310xt. i ran into some trouble retrieving the data today and here's my experience:

i struggled with this for a couple of hours today. here's what got me through it. i am using garmin 310xt with garmin express software on windows 7, not garmin ANT Agent. I tried downloading ANT agent and it could not find my 310xt even though paring was enabled on both my PC and 310xt.

    1) cleared 310xt of all activities other than the one of interest
    2) uninstalled all garmin software from PC (usb drivers, garmin express, 1 more thing [i forget])
    3) mode-> history -> transfer all on 310xt
    4) browsed to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\GarminConnect\Forerunner 310XT-3872302587\Upload\FIT_TYPE_4 and saw a new file with no extension (ex: .fit)
    5) renamed to have a .fit extension and was going to upload through garmin connect website, but when i pulled up the website the data was loaded into my garmin connect account

First time I've had a problem with my 310xt. I only had workouts for last month stored on it but today's run was 40 km and it would not accept it. I tried other methods found on this site but this is the one that worked. I didn't have to go onto my drive to rename any files, just deleted everything on my 310 except for today's run, selected upload everything, then reinstalled Garmin Connect. Hope I don't have to do this after every run.

Error transferring data from 310XT to Garmin Connect

    Help me.
I have not transferred data from my Garmin 310XT to Garmin Connect since March this year and have a large amount of data on my device that I do not want to lose.
I have tried to transfer the data today and I am receiving error messages.
I have disconnected the device from Connect and re-paired it to see if that works.
I have also deleted all my data from the 310XT prior to March this year.
Once I re-paired the device it seemed to start downloading to approx 40% and then stopped with an error message.
Now, when I re-try the transfer, it stops immediately.

It's almost as if, there is one activity on my 310XT that is corrupt ans will not transfer. But how do I locate the correct activity and delete it.
I might be wrong, but can anyone else offer some help or tips that I can try to retain my info?
I don't want to have to reset my 310XT if I can help it.

    Cheers
  • I don't have the 310xt anymore but, could you copy the files from your watch and upload them manually?
