All,
I'm new to the Garmin suite of devices and also new to using a "fitness" tracker and just wanted to be sure that what I am looking at is what I think. I am currently using a Vivofit along with the new premium heart rate strap. Now the way I understand it the Vivofit spits out the basic BMR calories as the day goes on and makes adjustments based on your steps taken. Now when I pair it with the heart rate strap for say cycling the heart rate is calculating a calorie burn number based on my heart rate. My question is when I log into Garmin Connect does the calorie number it shows reflect the total calories burned (my Vivofit BMR plus the "activities" recorded from my heart rate strap) or is this number strictly the BMR and steps calories to which I need to add the "activities".
On a similar note anyone notice that the Vivofit total and the Garmin Connect total do not match? I just sync'd and Vivofit says 2037cal and Garmin Connect says 1884. Thats a sizable discrepancy! And no the activity calories dont add to one to equal the other.
Thanks
