Multi Sport Workouts Garmin Connect

Hi,

How do i set up a multi sport work out in Garmin connect? Do i need to just set it up in the one sport and then when I transition, press the mode button to the other discipline?
  • For multi-sport (triathlons) there is a setting on your watch to enable this.. The best thing to do is what this tutorial video and play wit your watch to get it set-up correctly.. http://www8.garmin.com/learningcenter/into-sports/forerunner-910xt/

If you have 2 bikes set-up with Garmin; make sure your Road bike is the one in the multisport setting. After each leg is completed hit the LAP button. Once you cross the finish line after the run, hit the LAP button and it automatically stops the race. Hitting the Stop button just pauses the race.

The only issue is when downloading the data from the watch to the Garmin Connect Website. Currently, each part of the Triathlon will show up as an Activity on there (Swim, Transition 1, Bike, Transition 2, Run). There is no way for these activities to be combined on Garmin Connect that we all know of...

While everything you've said here is true, I don't think you're actually answering the question being asked. This guy wants to create a workout in Garmin Connect that spans multiple disciplines. When you create the workout, it asks you which sport the workout is for. There is no multisport option.

In the past, I've created two workouts to solve this problem. In my case, one for the bike, and another for the run. I start and finish the bike workout (I usually do brick workouts on the trainer), jump off the bike and put on my running shoes. I save the workout, step outside the garage, enable gps, and start the run workout. It isn't elegant or fast, but it does work. The only other way I can think of would require that you configure the workout as just cycling or just running. The disadvantage being that you don't get to see the sport specific screens for half of your workout.

C'mon Garmin, let us join the separate legs of a multisport event (triathlon) into one race or course!!! Waiting already too long for this. And in the new software everything just takes longer with still no solution for the above!!!!
  • Hi,

Is this solved? I am still not able to create a workout cor mutli sport. Do I miss something is is Garmin not able to create this function after 6 years?

  • Currently Garmin Connect does not provide any way to create multisport workouts.

  • Thanks for the fast answer.

I assume "currently" means never. If they are not able to solve this for 6 years, they will never solve it.

  • I used new multi sport activity set up to set up a brick session, more info via this link www8.garmin.com/.../GUID-89CDBACD-34A6-40E4-BE62-50BE269E9A64.html

  • Thanks for the tip, but that's not exactly what we're talking about. This topic is about creating pre-programmed workouts in Garmin Connect. Currently there is no way to create a multisport workout.

Totally, not sure why there is no traction on this?
