Export all activities to CSV, not just one page

1. It would be good to export all activities to CSV, rather than just a page of 20.

2. It would be good also if more activities could be displayed on the one page (veloviewer allows up to 1000).

3. How about a backup of all activities?
  • I realize that you'd like to see this functionality in Garmin Connect, but if you're willing to install a python interpreter I can easily write a script to do #1 and #3.

  • Yes I would, thanks, noting that I've never done anything w python scripts before.

Travis, if you can share the code here, I'd appreciate it as well...

Even though I could write something up, it seems like you might have something ready already.
  • I do. I should have no problem working on this tonight guys.

  • I'd like #3, a zip of all Activity files. And for it to be really good, make the names of the activity files meaningful, ie name of activity + date code

Chunkywizard, Strava has a nice default naming scheme, with the current date + city where you performed the activity. Garmin shows "Untitled" by default...

I edit all my activities and name them simply "YYYY-MM-DD - <some descriptive text>". For today, for example, it would be "2014-02-28 - Fartlek with wife". This helps me, but exporting that type of name might cause issues on some operating systems that doesn't do well with spaces on file names (most common OSes do, though...).
  • Sadly, it looks like one of the Garmin updates changed the sign on mechanism and my python scripts are no longer able to authenticate with the service. Until I can figure out how to get that working, this little project is dead in the water.

Note: It looks like Garmin has locked this down by design and that they will be publishing a public API to registered developers. I'm responding to see what they have to say.

Thanks for that, I use Strava already but think this functionality should be supported by Garmin Connect
