Software for Garmin D2

Hi All

I was just wondering what software people use to retrieve the recorded GPS tracks from their Garmin D2 watches?
Garmin Express isn't compatible.

Thanks

Mine is saying not compatabile to, it changed with the current version

3.0.6 at least brought up the device information and version numbers but thats about it, it would not let me link it to my Garmin Connect account
  • Basecamp is a good general purpose software for managing tracks on your D2. It's what I use with mine.

I use Oziexplorer on windows, it by far has the best options for those who interface with their GPS for tracks and points regularly

Basecamp works, its ok once you get used to the layout

EasyGPS is free software for interfacing

Do these programs allow you to overlay your tracks on top a map?

Are there any that are specific for Aviation?

I have used oziexplorer for years doing flight plans and quotes for clients. The only problem you may face is finding good maps for your area. I use a great 1:250k topo for Australia and its good enough for general purposes.

I would have to check but I think open street maps was made an option on the last update, don't take my word though.

I like that I can load my waypoints and put them I to the route editor, it will report back all the leg distances, total distance and headings that I can print off easily.

It will also easily convert your tracks and waypoints into google earth .kml files if that's what you prefer.

Don't think it would do any minimum safe altitude stuff though.
