Clearly Garmin Express and Garmin Connect are conflicting

After the latest changes where you're asked to install Garmin Express as the preferred sync tool it clearly shows that things are not aligned between Garmin Express and Garmin Connect.

This is what works fine now:
- Sync to upload recorded training to garmin connect
- Faster sync

This is what absolutely NOT works:
- Send courses mapped in Garmin Connect to device. Connect says it has send it, but it hasn't.
- Send training planned in Garmin Connect to device. Connect says it has send it, but it hasn't.

I'm using a Garmin 310XT and I have the latest Garmin Express version 3.0.6.0 as of today. I have uninstalled ANT, communicator plugin and then installed Express. After that install I have also installed communicator plugin again because Garmin Connect asks you to when you want to send courses or training to your device.

I have noticed that files are now stored in different places. MAYBE Garmin Express and Garmin Connect forgot to align that part. Just asking ... :cool:

    the same here with my 310XT despite having received the recommendation to install garmin express from garmin support international

    Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I'm sorry to hear you are still having a problem sending workouts to the Forerunner 310XT. I would be happy to help resolve this issue. From your last email it looks like you are still using the Garmin Ant Agent. I would recommend to stop using Garmin Ant Agent and move to Garmin Express
    Please follow the steps below:
    On the Forerunner 310XT:
    1. Press Mode a few times until you see the Menu
    2. Scroll down and press Enter on Settings
    3. Scroll down and press Enter on System
    4. Scroll down and press Enter on Data Transfer
    5. Ensure Enabled says YES and Pairing is ON
    On your computer:
    1. Right Click the Ant Agent Icon in the lower right hand corner of your computer screen
    2. Click Exit
    3. Click OK to close the program
    4. Download and install Garmin Express here http://connect.garmin.com/en-US/start/
    5. Once Garmin Express is installed Click Add New Device on the left hand side
    6. Once Garmin Express finds the Forerunner 310XT click Continue
    7. Choose Existing Account or Create a New Account
    8. Enter your username and password
    Once you have done this the Forerunner 310XT will upload any new activities. Once that is done you shouldn't have a problem sending a workout to the device.

    Garmin Express 3.0.7 put the FW-V2.50 GUPDATE.RGN file in the root folder on my fr220 yesterday and not the REMOTESW folder.
    My watch was already at V2.50.
    I moved the .RGN to the correct file with a drag-drop on the PC and got a corrupt file warning when i selected update on the FR220.
  • Same problem here 310xt, Garmin Express installed. Ant agent disabled. Express paired with my 310XT.
    When trying to download course from Garmin Connect, I get device found, course sent but it completes in 2 secs and nothing is transmitted to my watch..
    Can someone from Garmin confirm if this is a bug or have I not setup Garmin Express correctly ?

    So we have gone from a simple web uploader back to a machine specific software load?

    This sucks.
  • Same problem here with my 310XT. Pairing worked fine. Also transferring my training works.
    But when I am trying to sent Courses or Workouts to the device Garmin Connect says it has sent the data, but no sync is initiated. When I do this manual it says transferring data for a few seconds but nothing is being sent to the device.

    Hope that they will sort this out very quickly as I am using courses very frequently.

    Haven't tried to send anything to the device yet, but automatically uploading to Strava and/ or to Beginner Triathlete logs has stopped working. Uploading must now be done by exporting the file as a .tcx file. What a PITA! :mad:
  • Yes, this is expected behavior. As stated above, if this doesn't work for you, you can uninstall Garmin Express and install ANT Agent and the Communicator Plugin. Just use what works and quit complaining people.
