Garmin Express won't send workouts to my device

I've installed Garmin Express and have found that I can no longer send my workouts to my 910XT.

Please help as I regularly send workouts back and forth depending on my training for the day. Manual input directly to my watch is very cumbersome.

Also... I can no longer send my files to Training Peaks. Any suggestions??

Thanks.

I am no help. I am having the same problem with my 630 both through internet explorer and safa

    Thanks.
  • Same problem. Can't send a workout to my device.
  • I started a thread about this problem at +- the same time.
The only workaround was to install Ant Agent on my notebook :(
Hope Garmin will issue a fix soon.

I'm the same. Can't send workouts. For Training Peaks I've been using the export function in the workout page and downloading the tcx file. TP will let you just drag and drop the file in the Beta version and it logs it on the right day.
  • I noticed that Garmin Express automatically installed a local service called "Garmin Core Update Service" that is always activated and started.
Then this service is in conflict with ANT agent and all other 3rd party software using ANT+ USB keys such as my TACX home trainer.
I desactivated "Garmin Core Update Service" for good in windows services panel and now everything works fine as before.
I will only used Garmin Express starting it manually if necessary, waiting for the next release that will hopefully correct the conflict brought by "Garmin Core Update Service"
  • There isn't a conflict, Express is designed to replace the ANT agent so it grabs the ANT stick before the agent can. i.e. it's meant to be like this. But Express cannot do everything that the agent can do. Even Garmin recommend not to use ANT agent if you want to download due to lack of current functionality. Since the core update services is used for other things too, I disable it, start the ANT agent and then enable it again. Express complains it cannot access the ANT stick, but other than this it all then works fine. You also need to stop the Express tray utility when doing this otherwise that re-enables the core update services before the agent can start.

    same here with 405CX.
    @MAT29S
eventhough I have ant agent installed, when I hit send workouts to device (on the web UI) it initiates the garmin express. How did you manage to direct it to ant?

Go it: profile > temporarily switch to the old profile. Now it works with ant+

    *poorest update ever. Well tested...

Garmin Express deleted/ uninstalled the old ANT agent from my computer. Is it possible to download it again from other website?

After reinstalling the ANT agent and moving to "classical", I've managed to send my exercises again to my 405CX. Thanks for the tips, guys!!!

What a bad software update from Garmin!!!
