I have noticed something strange;

I set the training zones in Connect like this;
Resting Harte Rate = 57
Zone 1: 51% (118) – 60% (129)
Zone2: – 70% (141)
Zone3: - 80% (153)
Zone4: - 85% (159)
Zone5: - 100% (177)

When I look at the Heart Rate graphics in Connect 80% starts at 140 BPM. When the the zones in Heart Rate where still working ;-) it was showing wrong zones.

Am I doing something wrong, if so? What???

Thanks!

Maarten
  • The Training Zones page shows %HRR, not %MHR. The formula for %HRR is HR = HRmin + ((HRmax - HRmin) * Pct). Given that, the zones in Connect make sense...

    Zone1: - 51% -> 57 + ((177 - 57) * .51) = 118
    Zone2: - 70% -> 57 + ((177 - 57) * .70) = 141
    Zone3: - 80% -> 57 + ((177 - 57) * .80) = 153
    Zone4: - 85% -> 57 + ((177 - 57) * .85) = 159
    Zone5: - 100% -> 57 + ((177 - 57) * 1.0) = 177

    That said, you're indicating that the graphs are showing 80% is equal to 140bpm. If that is the case, it sounds like the presentation of the data that you're looking at is showing %MHR (177 *.80 = 141.6). I'm curious where you are seeing this.
