Switched to Garmin Express from Ant Agent - now can't upload anything from watch

The other day I downloaded Garmin Express and switched to using that instead of Ant Agent - I am using a Mac.

Even though I can connect to my Forerunner 620 fine, and I could install the required updates fine, I simply can't upload anything to Garmin Connect.

So for example today I did a race, the file is sat on my watch and I can view it on the watch itself (it's not corrupted) but I can't get it to upload to GC. Garmin Express does the Sync and then gives me the notification saying "Sync complete! View data at Garmin Connect" but on GC there is nothing there. In fact there is none of my training runs since moving from Ant Agent to Express.

The weird thing is that if I do a manual upload, it connects to my watch and lists the activities where I can choose which ones I want to upload, but nothing is listed from the date of switching to Express. Even though I can look on the watch and see the activity there, the manual upload doesn't list it.

I can't find the TCX file on my Mac either (Library/Application Support/Devices/Device/History) - although every file up until I switched is there.

SO............. what is going on? Where are my files being sent to? Any ideas?

I have a 910 and I've been having the same issue. Mine doesn't even really sink to GC. I can look everything in the watch but I can really upload a thing to the ANT+ stick. POS!!! And...on top of this...I think no one from Garmin actually reads this posts. I haven't seen anyone answering. We are in trouble! If you find anything that can help me, please, let me know. Thanks!

I'm also using a mac and can't even get Garmin Express to see my 910. Having read some other threads about teething troubles, lack of local storage and now not getting mine to work, I'm now deleting until it gets fixed.

I wish they'd make sure stuff worked before rolling it out - serious competition is emerging and I won't be sticking with Garmin if they keep making it so difficult to use the damn thing...
  • The device/history folder is from the Ant+ agent; sounds like the web plugin was still looking there which is why you can see the old activities. I had the exact same issue, and the key to my solution was that you must set discovery to on in your 910 before express will be able to find it. I had also deleted the 910 it thought it knew about, but I'm not sure if this was needed.
  • I had a brief encounter with Express yesterday - On Win7.
I performed a run and sync'd to GC. No problem with that.
I normally upload my activities to Endomondo (and others) as well, by picking the .FIT file from
%AppData%\Garmin\Devices\3841536060\Activities. But there were no new files neither there nor in
%AppData%\Garmin\Devices\3841536060\History - where the .TCX files was stored by the ANT agent.
I unsuccessfully tried to find the files on my harddrive, uninstalled Express and reinstalled the ANT agent.
If anyone knows where those files are stored on a PC - please enlighten me. Until then I'll
    stick to the ANT.

Garmin Express deleted again, - can´t find txc files and had to reexport txc from garmin connect to pc,before uploading to endomondo - NO WAY GARMIN, you have to do batter than that!!
  • Check that Garmin Express is updated. Someone else thought an update in the last day or so fixed this. I however probably won't install Garmin Express until my current Garmin Communicator and other stuff fail to work.

Any news on how to fix this? I just downloaded and installed the software, then GANG! neither my FR 50 or 60 hooks up!!! I know my devices are sort of outdated, but hey, while using ANT Agent everything kept in place. Very upset and disappointed!!! :-=

My Edge 500 works fine with Garmin Express but my 405CX will not pair with it! Garmin couldn't organise the proverbial 'p*ss up in a brewery'!!!!
