Garmin Connect app new activity upload now working

The manual upload of new (cycling) activities in the new iPhone app does not work. Either it displays distances that make no sense (thousands of miles for one workout) or it does not upload the manual activities at all displaying an error message. For me this is an important function to track gym activities like spinning or rowing. How/when can it be solved?
