Course not sending to garmin edge 800 device

Hello everyone!
This is my first time using the Connect forum. I have recently bought an Edge 800 device and have successfully created courses in Garmin Connect and sent them to the device via the USB cable. The courses have then been available in the Courses menu of the device once unplugged (as one would expect). Once selected the course could then be followed. However, today I have tried to do exactly the same thing but it does not work. The computer has detected the device, I have hit the 'Send to Device' button, the message 'Course successfully sent to device' has appeared but when I unplug and turn on the device and go to the Course menu, the Course is not there. I have re-attempted several times but have not managed to get the Course to appear on the device.

I am a bit gutted because I was planning on going on my first 'proper' ride of the year today!

Has anyone had this problem? and does anyone know how I can fix it?

Thank you all!

Michael

    I'm having the same problem, courses have always sent fine previously but today they aren't showing on the device (800), help!!!
  • Same problem since ~ yesterday with the Fenix.
    It seems that Garmin connect suddenly writes a .fit file in the gpx folder of the fenix, instead of a gpx file.

    What I've been doing: use this URL to download a gpx (replace {{course ID}} with the actual number):
    connect.garmin.com/.../{{course ID}}

    Rename the file to foo.gpx, and copy it to the fenix GPX folder.

    That worked fine for now...
  • me too. I've just purchased an edge 810, and this was my first attempt at loading a course. Spent a not so happy 2 hours retrying, including using maps in both .fit and .gpx. It seems the only thing you can do is transfer a previous ride to a course, not really great as i wanted to use it tomorrow!!. Having read the forum, it looks like that the recent 'update' was not fully tested as there are loads of users with far more experience then me failing!
    come on garmin - sort it out

    this is really frustrating

    i thought it was my device so i did a master reset and wiped all the activities saved on the device, now i have nothing on it and was hoping to get out early tomorrow

    i'm guessing this is a glitch with the new site?
