Garmin Connect with Multiple Devices?

Does the Garmin Forerunner 610 offer features similar to the Garmin Vivofit? Can the FR610 act as a pedometer when not running/working out?

The Garmin Vivofit has come out but lacks a lot of the FR610 features (GPS, Virtual Partner, etc)...if the FR610 doesn't have a pedometer to track all day activity what if I wore both during a workout how does Garmin Connect figure out the information or is it combined?

I would like to know the same thing. Can I use both devices? I guess I'll have to wear both during work outs. Will that mean I burn twice as many calories?! :-D JK!

    2 devices

Hi - i have the same question - has this been answered? I have a Garmin Forerunner 610 and Vivofit 2 but due to limitations of Vivofit use the forerunner for running. How do i get both on my 1 account?
  • You can have both devices in the same Connect account. Typically, what most people do is have their vivofit as their primary tracker since they wear it 24/7 and their forerunner just for activities. So when they work out, they start the activity on the forerunner only but continue to wear the vivofit to continue counting steps.

There might be a bit of calorie double-counting although there have been posts that say Connect is smart enough to know to take the calories from the forerunner for the activity. If there is double counting of calories, the effect should be minimal and you can edit the results if you're so inclined.
