Temperature and distance settings

In Connect we have 3 settings to control measurements: Statute, Statute UK and Metric.

There are a number of anolamies here.

Statute UK shows temperature in Celcius, distance in miles, pace in minutes per mile, yet elevation is shown in metres!
Statute shows temperature in degrees fahrenheit, distance in miles, pace in minutes per mile, and elevation in feet.
Metric shows temperature in degrees Celcius, distance in kilometers, pace in minutes per km, and elevation in metres.

Metric is clearly correct, and Statute UK is clearly wrong, mixing statute and metric measurements.

However as temperature is neither stature nor metric I would like to see it have a setting of its own. I use statute for distance and elevation but Celcius temperature and cannot see those combination of measurements on Garmin Connect. I have to keep switching between settings.

So: Please can we have Statute UK corrected. And please can we have the temperature as a separate setting just as dates and power display are separate.

Thank you
  • Surely that just reflects the ridiculous situation that prevails in the UK - where you can't buy a litre of beer, it has to be multiples (or divisions) of a pint - yet you can't buy a gallon of petrol, it has to be in litres... distances on roads have to be given in statute, yet the marker posts on the side of a motorway are 100m apart...

Statute measure hasn't been formally taught in schools since the early 1970s - you'd think by now the work of the British Metrication Board (set up in 1965) should at least be partially done :)
  • That's the point of statue UK. It's for those that want metric for everything but distance. If they made it all metric, there would be no point in it at all.

I do agree that it would be nice to be able to have individual option for all units of different type. Distance, Elevation, Temperature, etc.
