Hi,

I'm new in garmin world and I bought a garmin edge 500; I connected my device with garmin connect and I learned hot to download my workouts in the dashboard, all fine!! In device I setting km/h for my distance but when I donwload my workouts I see them in mph. Then I founded the setting where I can change it, I click on my account name on top right, I click setting and I can change mile in metric system, but there isn't a save button, and I can't confirm that I want it, so when I exit from setting I have ever my workouts in mph, I don't find a good solution. Can you help me?
Thanks
  • When you change the settings in Garmin Connect they should save automatically. When I change my units in the GC settings from statue to metric, immediately a few lines above I get a message with a green checkmark telling me I've successfully changed my units or something like that.

If you are not getting that, then try looking to be sure there is not a security message from your browser waiting to be answered. Many browsers put it just below the url line above the top of the page. Frequently I find them easy to miss. Or clear your cache and cookies, or use a different browser.

If none of that works for you, Call Garmin Support.

Others have complained about this issue but none have reported back any solution. If you find one please let everyone else here know what solved it for you.

I tried on my MAC with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, nothing. Also I tried with IExplorer on windows....noting!!! What do you use?
  • The problem has already been discussed in several threads:
    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?73492-no-puedo-cambiar-millas-por-km
    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?9932-Garmin-Connect-Appearance-Miles-Kilometers
    https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?35724-converting-from-k-s-to-miles

The bug seems to be related to the browser you are using. Try it with a different browser and on another computer. I managed to change settings on a PC with a very old version of Internet Explorer.
Nevertheless, Garmin should do something to fix this.

    hi there

I have same problem (look under 'troubleshooting' for my post) - tried all thinkable browsers, still not saving my updates. Have now written to Garmin Support, so lets see what they say...

    ***SOLVED*** (only for iPhone owners)
I tried to change this setting with my iPhone (in Safari) and it change it fine. If you don't have an iPhone try with another mobile browser.
