Garmin Connect is displaying wrong pace & run times

This is a bit of a weird problem. The last few workouts I've posted, the overall run time, and pace, were wrong. If I add up all the mile-splits on Garmin Connect, they will equal the right time, but Garmin connect didn't add them all up correctly. Anyone know what could cause this?
  • I've also been having this problem, and also only for a couple weeks. If you copy your splits into a spreadsheet they add up to the correct time, but somehow any time you pause your watch Garmin Connect acts as if it was still running.
  • I emailed Garmin on this - no reply. It is weird - 5 years of using watch/connect, no problems then this out of the blue, no updates/changes or anything. It is rubbish - on a long ride despite stopping watch and the watch even going off during a food break, it still adds all that time in at the end making info useless. Why the sudden change? All this improvement/upgrade stuff and all of a sudden it is worse. The garmin site says they are aware of the problem but they have closed the thread with no message as to what the solution is!!

    Have the same problem.
fyi: when uploading to strava.com the speed displays correctly. So garmin connnect problem.
  • Same problem here (Forerunner 305). Started quite recently, no problem before.

same problem here! forerunner 405 Data on watch appears to pause, avg pace and total time shows correctly on watch, but after uploading splits remain unchanged but "total time" is gross of pause time for a meaningless average pace. Garmin needs to look at how the data is aggregating to the site - something is getting picked up wrong.

I just want to keep this thread alive and post that I've been experiencing the same issue for several weeks with my Forerunner 410. It doesn't seem to differentiate between moving/elapsed and total time and defaults to the total time. So if you get stuck at a stop light or your dog takes a bathroom break, they get counted toward your total time.

    Very frustrating.

//Edit: More information -- It only appears to be affecting my Forerunner. My edge 500 is correctly reporting moving time vs time. I'm not sure what would cause this discrepancy but if the information is being calculated correctly for one device it seems like it should be an easy fix to get it done for another.
  • Same here. Garmin 405. Total time wrong, splits are correct. Started last week or so - since new web design. Desktop app "Garmin Training Center" is still accurate, but I like the features of the web based Garmin Connect.

Same here - Edge 305 used for MTB. Noticed this has been happening since last week or so. It seems that the total time and average speed are incorrect on the web, but the unit on my mountain bike shows properly.
  • My last run only shows MPH and there is no way to switch to pace per mile any more. WTF, Garmin?
