bulk import GPX files?

I've got 3 years worth of GPX files exported from runkeeper that id like to import into Garmin Connect. I can do these one by one but there must be an easier way? can it be done from GC its self, or are there any online services that will do a bulk job??

thanks in advance
  • there are apps and software that will, but I don't remember what. It has bee posted before. However, if your device creates .gpx files for it's normal upload, try copying them back to the proper folder on your device and then see if it will mass upload them.

I did that for .fit files with my edge500. Hopefully though someone will know the name of the app/software to recommend and post it, as that will likely be easier in the long run.

thats a good idea. it's my wifes data actually so done on a combination of smartphone and my 310xt but RunKeeper spits out gpx files all the same so i hope it will work. If i load them onto my edge800, what folder should i use?
  • I think the 800 uses .fit files. However I don't think it'd hurt to try with the .gpx. On my 500 they are in the /garmin/activities folder. Don't know what file structure the 800 uses, but just browse through it till you find a folder with files that have a date name that match your previous activity dates. Maybe just start the timer and record a little then save it and you'll have a activity file with todays date as part of it's name.

Several cautions, try it with just a few files first. Be sure to delete them after you are finished, or the next time you start your 800, it may sit a while on the splash screen making you think somethings wrong. What it's really doing is cataloging or processing the new files and unfortunately garmin doesn't tell us anything when at the splash screen, so it looks frozen. But just be patient if that happens. If you are using a mac, then be sure to empty the trash bin, or you won't be freeing up the space on the edge.

And remember, I'm just a user.... so if you brick your edge.... it's your doing.

I've got the same dilemma -- I have several years worth of gpx collected with Edge 500 that I'd like to upload to garmin connect, but I'm definitely not doing it file by file. What applications will enable this, or is there a feature that I'm missing?

    Help!
