New Course Creation - Corruption every time

For over a week now I've not been able to successfully use a created course on Garmin connect. I can use it to create the course now problem and then save it. But once saved it hangs in a 'loading' state. You can click to the main menu and go back to courses and see the file there but as soon as you open it it just says 'loading'. I've also tried sending it to my devices and it just comes up blank. I've even tried this on two totally different computers and it's still happening.

Anyone know why? Is there a limit to how many course you can have stored or something?
  • Hi, I had exactly the same problem. Started about a week ago and any new course can be created but when you try and edit or 'view details' it just hangs on 'Loading'. The courses I had previously all work and load fine. Total mystery but I can at least send to my Garmin 800 by clicking 'Send to Device' while it is still hanging on Loading. I tried deleting the Plug In connector from computer and then re-installing and for about 2 days it all worked fine!!! but then yesterday it started hanging again so it must be something to do with the Garmin plug in. You could try doing that - you won't loose any of your past courses or data. If you fine an answer let me know - its so frustrating isn't it!!
  • me too

Add me to the list too...
    • new courses are corrupt
    • if a new course actually gets created, opening it again will corrupt the distance
    • stuck on 'loading'
    • additionally - "No device found that supports Courses." (I have a 310XT)
    • additionally ANTAgent (Version 2.2.2 for Mac) has crashed each time I've used it, generating os x crash reports, starting February 6th
    • additionally after recovering from a crash, my 310XT is unpaired

    boo :-(
  • Are you creating courses from Garmin Connect? Might be worth trying another site such as Strava, mapmyride, mapmyrun, ridewithgps, and many more sites that have free tools to create your own course.

There have been a rash of posts that suggest that GC is having some issues. I have not experienced them though, but I don't create my courses on GC either. If you are having issues, then you probably should call or email Garmin Support.
  • Yeah - I've always used Garmin Connect. How exactly do you use the other sites and get it on to the Garmin then? Surely you have to use Garmin Connect to transport it or am I wrong?
  • Can't speak for the ones Voiceresponse mentions, but both gpsies and bikeroutetoaster send to the watch via Garmin Communicator. Definitely good for 310xt, presumably good for other watches using ANT wireless; it will just sit in the queue till the next time your watch connects via the ANT dongle.
  • The last course I did was:
    GC gpx export
    ridewithgps import
    ridewithgps tcx export
Drop the tcx file directly from into my Edge 510 New Files folder via cable connection

Worked OK. (I do it that way to get street name directions.) I agree, GC is buggy as all anything.
  • Thanks peeps. Although I've not tested it yet, it looks as though Garmin have updated Garmin Connect and the course creation is now working again for me. Well over short distances anyway.
