Unable to disable Elevation Corrections

I upload my garmin 810 data and normally the elevation correction was set to disable, just notices that recent uploads came with elevation corrections enabled. I Tried to disable without success. Is any correction that I should apply?
  • It would be handy if GC showed the data source it was using (also RWGPS and Strava).

I get a small difference between 510 and GC that I think might be due to my home being a Location with known altitude.

But BSRU I still think that you are confusing issues around accuracy of third party elevation data and the GC web site that took a ridiculous time to fix. Since this is a user forum not a Garmin support desk it'd be more useful if you provided data and analysis ahead of slagging off Garmin.

    It's not fixed.
I am a GC user of three years and the problem is with GC elevation correction, it worked before the maintenance window in early February and is still not working. I'm hardly likely to praise Garmin for breaking a feature and not fixing it.
Maybe if the Garmin support desk actually did something I wouldn't be on here, but so far their only solution was to clear the browser cache.
  • it's still screwy

I ran a flat 5k, and connect said the elevation gain was roughly 450 feet.... it did let me cycle between enabled/disabled on the corrections but that didn't change the total elevation gain (seems as if the functionality of the button has been removed)

eventually on the 3rd or 4th refresh clicking "enable" allowed the correct sounding 40 feet as the elevation gain

    Hello,
I have a Forerunner 220 and can't disable Elevation Corrections on Garmin Connect. Min elevation is reported as 0 meter, and the same figure is given for Max elevation. The elevation chart is empty. This problem arose this week. Previously, Elevation Corrections was set to "Disabled", and data from my unit were recorded (that they often seem incredible is another matter). I hesitate to contact Garmin "Support" since I have not found them very supportive in the past. Anybody has the same problem?
  • I just uploaded recent data from my Edge 200 today. Exact same probelm as ANDODEN: no elevation data on chart, and cannot disable Elevation Corrections. The button does not work. So, I can't even use the GPS-based elevation data gathered by my Edge 200. Very frustrating... I just added another hill to my route, and wanted to see how much more elevation I added to my route. Seems crazy that Garmin can't fix this, when it was working fine for so long.

How long is this confusion and malfunction going to last? I upgraded to Forerunner 220 from Forerunner 10 precisely in order to get the elevation data and spent approximately 400 dollars on the unit. On Garmin Connect's Facebook page there is a somewhat cryptic message dated 17 April that the update to Garmin Modern will affect Forerunner 10 users and their ability to get the *elevation correction." In the next sentence it is said that "other Garmin devices are able to report the elevation that the GPS collected during the activity." My problem, however, is that that the elevation corrections function is set to "enabled" and that no elevation data at all are recorded. More exact and candid information from Garmin is called for! (Garmin Support Sweden has not yet responded to my questions).

Got this reply from Garmin today:
"Thank you for contacting Garmin International.
I will be happy to assist you with that. In the last few weeks we became aware that this was happening, the engineers are working on it and it should begin to work this week, I see that you sent this to us on Friday the 2nd of May, please keep us posted if you do not see any improvements on Garmin Connect by the end of the week. Also keep your workouts on the device as we can reload them one at a time after deleting the activities from Garmin Connect once it is working properly again.
Thank you for your patience with this issue."

I've had this problem since February. Last few weeks????

Yeah, it's quite strange, to say the least. I also fear that it won't be fixed at all this week and that complaining users have been given the same kind of reply ("fixed this week") ever since February. But I don't know. Have you communicated your problems to Garmin? If so, for how long?
