Would it be possible to add yoga and/or stretching as an activity type? As a runner, I am trying to focus more on stretching. Right now I am classifying it as other but would love to be able to have an activity type specified for it. Thank you!
Not just yoga but Pilates too. Also under activities there should be a way to record an activity like a stop watch which based on the activity you have chosen and the duration it can give you estimate of the calories burned.
I support this! Different types of yoga too, as they burn different amounts of calories. Im surprised they don't support popular workout classes (pure barre, soulcycle, etc.); I know you could say it's cycling/spinning, but personally exact about what I was doing!
Yes that would be great. I can record pilates and body pump in Myfitnesspal but not Garmin connect. The activities list is a bit of a mystery -how many people realy do kite surfing compared to yoga??!?
Connect in general seams to be very focused on running/jogging/walking activities. And this is understandable since the majority of their devices are focused on those activities as well. But with the Vivo line, there are many areas where this is less than ideal. Every time I want to add an activity, the activity card on the modern dashboard shows distance, even if the activity is something like strength training or yoga where you don't travel any distance.
Yoga and Pilates should definitely be an option at this day and age of fitness. Every other fitness tracker has this as an option and better charts and statistics (Endomondo). This suggestion is also great if you don't specifically want to add yoga/pilates/stretching.
Maybe it would be usefull to have the possibility to define, next to the known activity types, your own type of activity?
