Elevation Chart Missing

I have a Forerunner 10 and I realize that the unit itself does not track elevation, but I know that GarminConnect will calculate the elevation changes once I've uploaded an activity. It did this perfectly for my first 6 or so activities, but now with my latest runs that I've uplaoded, no elevation map is coming up and there were most certainly hills on the routes that I ran.

What is going on here?

Thanks!

    Same issue here

Mine stopped reporting elevation on 3 Feb 2014 (Australian time).

Must be a global problem. My activities were fine up to and including 4th Feb, then on 5th Feb it stopped reporting.

Also I noticed that my last two activities, a cycle ride yesterday afternoon and a run this morning, show the elapsed time and the moving time as identical despite the fact that I know there were significant stops. I had to stand at traffic lights for more than minute this morning. Not sure if it's a connected problem.

Has anyone reported it to Garmin?

Hi - I am having the same trouble with elevation not showing. Has worked great for months and then all of a sudden in the past week I cannot see the readings....I take it this is just a temporary glitch? Can someone from Garmin let us know please....it is frustrating as I am in training for an event with hills and need to know what I am training at. Thankyou.

I too am having trouble with no elevation showing on my last few runs and have emailed Garmin for a reply because i thought i had done something to change the settings. I now see it may be a global issue.

    Emailed Garmin product support

I have had the same problem. Just emailed Garmin product support, so hopefully the folks would respond soon. If the Garmin folks come up with a fix quickly, they would have a loyal customer. If not, then my next device would be an Apple or a Samsung.

I've just uploaded two new activities and the elevation profile exists again, so I went back and re-uploaded all the ones which were missing the data. Two of these still won't work, but the rest have elevation profiles, but it is still not quite right. For example, I did a rep session earlier in the week with manual splits and most of the splits aren't showing any elevation data at all. Another route I do regularly is showing a different elevation gain value to when I've run it previously.

So it looks like they've done a partial fix but still not fully working.

So now they seem to have undone the partial fix and not there is no elevation data again! More than 2 weeks now it has not been working properly. Not good!

Latest update, went for another run and uploaded it and it has an elevation chart which looks fine, but the figures on the splits page and the total elevation gain figure is clearly way off.

I then downloaded the new Garmin Express to see if there were any updates to be run, which there were. One would not install, but would not say why. I tried it several times then out of curiosity I tried to install it through the old Web Updater. It wouldn't install but at least it told me the reason was because there was not enough space on the device. Bit poor if the new Garmin Express can't tell me that but the old Web Updater can. Why are they making changes which are making things worse?

My only option was to do a full reset and wipe all my data from device and then do the install. Now that means that if elevation data starts working again I can't go back and re-upload the runs where it wasn't working. I've lost that data forever now.
