Since 2 days ago, i am unable to manually or automatically upload any activites from my 510 as well as my 220. Strava uploads are working fine with the devices. Few friends having similar issues with their 910xt.

any idea whats going on?
  • Another from Western Australia with the same problem, and changing my timezone in Garmin Connect has also fixed it for me.

Well it works for now, until Garmin make another update and we have to change it back to WA time...

Changing the time zone in Garmin Connect doesn't seem to fix it for me. I tried China Time and even Eastern States Time. Ever since this problem started I get a pop-window that says Do you want to open or save .tcxadcca9c8.json from connect.garmin.com Anyone else getting that?

Thanks everyone for posting solution - I will try this. Also from Western Australia and posted to a different thread last week regarding the same issue.

Also could not contact Garmin through support (email) as it had an error and someone else's name kept appearing for my login (people in US!) so big thanks to getting help from fellow users!

Yes I did get that error message - with the unable to open a .json file (different name, same extension). I only got that error on Chrome (I was trying different internet browsers). I did not get the error on internet explorer - just kept showing files uploading. Have yet to try time zone change solution.

Piera, thanks for the tip - funny thing is I got just the opposite, I was getting the error message (and no upload) on IE but I tried FireFox and no 'open or save' message and the upload worked! So for me resetting the time zone and changing browsers to Firefox solved the problem.

C'mon Garmin get your act together! This bug has been affecting West Australian users for over a week now and still no action on your part. The bug has got something to do with the WA time zone that you select in Garmin Connect settings and it stops the upload process. To fix the bug change your time zone to South Aussie time in Garmin Connect, then log out of Garmin Connect on the web, log out on your phone and close the app on your phone and restart your Garmin device. Then the upload should work, well it did for my 510 anyway.

Same issue, same state (WA) with an Edge 200. No response from an email to Garmin Support.

    time zone change works

Graeme: Same problem with Edge800 in Perth WA....I uploaded the new firmware from 2.6 to 2.7, and uploaded the Time Zone map. Then I changed timezone in my profile from GMT+8 Western to GMT+8 China, and Connect suddenly recognised that the files HAD been uploaded. All 'normal' now.

Same for me - changed to GMT +8 China and all activities that I tried previously to upload where already there...... Maybe Garmin should outsource support to their users......

Hi there Garmin users. I have experienced the same problem with never-ending uploading icon. This has only happened after updating from 3.0 version firmware to 3.2 on my Edge 500. I get a Windows dialogue message do I want to open run or save a random .FIT file. I have reported this to Garmin but no response yet. Strava and Training Centre uploads work fine.
