Unable to eject micro SD in 3597

This is the first time I used the tiny poorly designed memory card slot. I inserted the memory card. The device recognized it. Now, I want to eject the memory card and I can't. It's stuck. What kind of design is this?

The area is so tight, there is no way I can insert anything in there. Perhaps there is a trick you guys now to eject the card? Failing that, I guess I have to take it Garmin for a repair.

haha. i did get it out too. but it's so tight in there. is that normal for 3597? is there any special electrical grease i can use to make it smoother?
  • Don't use grease. As Stuart says, nail tip or something similar.

but it's so tight in there.

Well the socket is spring loaded so the trick is to push quickly and get your nail out of the way. That should expose enough of the card to grab a hold of. Careful though--if the card flies out you might have trouble finding it on the floor (been there, done that :D).

The problem appears to be my 32 GB Patriot microSD card is the culprit. It seems to be a bit oversized. I tried with other microSDs and while still tight, it can pop out.

I read WD40 can be used as a lubricant.
