Increasing the Sample Rate on Garmin 62stc

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and had a question I couldn't find an answer to in the FAQ or older forum threads. I am mapping some hiking trails for a friend and he asked me if I could increase the sample rate on my 62stc. Does anyone know if this can be done, and if so, how to do it? I would appreciate any help.

Look under something like SetUp, Tracks.

Should be able to set time interval there.

What do you mean by "sample rate"? Do you mean the track logging recording interval? That can be set to record once per second--the fastest possible.

Having now had the time to check it's Setup, Tracks, Track Log, Record Method :)

FYI I have the track recording interval set to 1 sec on all my units. That provides the best detail.

I'd rather have the (raw) data and post process (reduce the number of points) than not have the data at all. The number of track points (i.e. memory) just isn't an issue these days.
