Time in HR Zones (again)

Former Member
Former Member
I know this has been brought up before, but I can set heart rate zones in my Forerunner, but then in Garmin Connect I simply can't see a way to then view how much time I spent in each zone. I can see an average HR reading.

If I'm missing something basic then could someone point me in the right direction. If not, surely this is a fairly basic feature, and it seems slightly pointless to have the zones in your device (and also you can add them in your Connect profile settings) if you can't then view the information in Garmin Connect later.

Thanks
  • Garmin Connect does not display 'time in HR zone'. There are other sites that do. I routinely use two sometimes three other sites as well as GC to look at my data. They all do some things well and fall short in other areas. But as they are 'free' for a basic account, I don't feel I should gripe.

I also use multiple sites, but since this is for feature requests, this is something that would reduce at least one additional site / software, making my life easier (and more Garmin centric, Suunto's site shows this...).
  • How many requests does Garmin need to implement such a feature? How hard can it be?!?

Such a report, showing the distribution of time in heart rate zones for a single activity or period or time, is more valuable than any of the currently available reports. It's so obvious I can't believe it's not implemented years ago!

I have started using Strava so I at least can see the heart rate distribution in each activity. Considering leaving Garmin Connect and use Strava only. And buy another brand of heart rate monitor the next time.

Garmin team. What is the problem?? Why can`t You change it finally ?
I`m using more and more training peaks and I see that is a good choice. This request has been reported in old forum ?
Are You only interested in people who log their leisure activities ?
  • Agree. This is a very important feature for the more serious athletes!

Main competitors of Garmin (e.g. Polar) are offering this. Unfortunately, it seems that Garmin is not as focused on its software/website as it is on its hardware. Even now with the new website, it does not seem this feature has been added, and it is mainly the look and feel of the website that have been changed. Good hardware needs to be supported by good software and post-processing tools.
  • In case you didn't know, Garmin is in the process of doing a complete overhaul of the website. Instead of complaining about the old website, it might be best to wait until the updated site is up and running. The enhancement you want may already be implemented.

Update: in case I'm not being clear, they are supposed to be updating http://connect.garmin.com. I don't think that update has been rolled out to the public at all yet.

  • I agree. This feature is in Training Center as well as other third party sites. Most important stat for figuring out how much fitness is improving and how hard you worked.

Also needed in the F620 please.
(Polar RSXXX series has it as standard)

Well Travis.Vitek, months are passing, updates are being done, but so far this basic functionality is still missing. As far as I remember updates were supposed to be applied by Q1 so I feel that again it was too hard to be done. Terribly sad.

I would also like this feature. I had another HRM that paired with my phone that showed it this way and I thought getting a Vivofit would be better. It's much more convenient than needing to have my phone nearby in workout classes, but it's not showing me the information I really need about my workout.

Time in HR zones is what I need to convert activity to Weight Watchers Activity Points. I'd really like to know how much I can eat, please.
