Edge 800 not appearing on any of my Macs

Came back from a ride this evening, attempted to upload my ride to Garmin Connect and Training Peaks. Plugged my Garmin in via USB port as usual (I had just done this yesterday after a ride, and had no problem). Garmin did not appear in my macbook. Tried another USB cable, no luck. Tried a master reset (losing the data from today's ride), and still had no luck. Tried connecting on another computer - and the device did not appear. Any suggestions?
The issue is probably on the macbook side of things or still something up with the usb connection. IMO, resetting the edge for this issue was probably unnecessary and only resulted in the loss of your data.
If you can't get the edge to show up as a drive on your macbook, then try cleaning the contacts of the usb connector on the edge with a little wd40. Don't get wild with it, just get a little on a swab and wet the contacts, then work the cable on and off multiple times.
