Difference Between Full Coverage and Numaps

I'm updating my garm nuvi with garmin express and it is downloading 2 map updates. One is full coverage for North America and the other is nuMaps Lifetime North America. I was just wondering what is the difference between the 2 and why I need both.

Some nuvi models get additional data in addition to actual maps. For example my 1490T gets Junction View and other models get 3D buildings. It could be Garmin Express is showing the maps and add-ons separately. I don't use Garmin Express (but GarminMapUpdater) so I'm not sure.

IIRC this is just Express telling you it's downloading both to PC and your GPS, did you select that option?

Probably because you're possibly getting 2 different maps and in different formats ... one will be the full coverage (onto your PC), the other the map or partial map that is installed on your GPS.
