Forerunner 220 Sync Issues

was notified by my watch today ( forerunner 220) that an update was available today. went to the express fit program to update ( it told me on my watch that the update had failed when I initially tried to update) and now it seems like the sync keeps restarting on the express fit program. the sync progress bar never gets past about 25 percent then restarts. has been doing this for about an hour now. any ideas on whats happening, and how to correct?
