getting type error message when uploading for first time

hi, am trying to upload mike bike ride for first time with new garmin edge 200. can get avtivity onto strava no problem but when try to upload garmin connect it says type error
If no one comes up with a better suggestion, you could try doing a manual upload. You can select that from the upload page of GC then browse to the file location. I'm not sure if that will be garmin/activites or garmin/history for your device. It's possible you might still get the same error. If you do get an error, then another thing you can do is export the file from Strava to your PC/Mac and then try to manually upload that file to GC.
I'm not sure what the actual problem is for you, but it might be something wrong with the file itself that GC balks at but Strava overlooks.
If future activities still give you the same issue then call Garmin Support if none of the other users here have a solution for you. Let us know if you find something that works for you.
I guess you are talking about the Garmin Montanna 650. This forum is almost exclusively Garmin 'Fitness' products. You can try over here -> http://forums.gpsreview.net/. There are a lot of Garmin users there and I use it quite a bit when I have questions about my non 'fitness' devices. If your question is more specific to a particular use like geocaching, then googl'ing that will find many other forums that have many Garmin users.
