610 Heart Rate Monitor problem in the wet!!!

Lucky enough to get a 610 for Xmas. All has been fine until today when the HRM stopped working mid run. It's been okay for my first few runs. Started working again when I got home and dried off. I was running in a torential downpour with a light jacket on (not waterproof) which clung to me like a second skin...don't suppose this could effect the HRM's performance could it?
