Out of date maps.

None of the maps available in Connect show changes to my local town centre which were completed 18months ago. All the iPhone cycle apps I've used such as MapMyRide, Strava and personal favourite Cycle Meter, show these recent changes.

I've only had the Edge 500 a few days. I think it's great in many ways but I have a growing sense of the software not being nearly as robust nor as capable as I've come to expect from contemporary iPhone apps. I find this maps issue quite alarming in dedicated GPS software.

Do Garmin cycle racing teams use this kit?

Maps now seem to be up to date!

24 hours after my post re out of date maps - the maps now show changes to my local town centre. All three map types.

Remarkable.

Garmin Connect uses Bing maps by default. You can select Google or OSM maps if you prefer them.

Yes, I looked at all map options and they were all out of date at time of original post. They are now all up to date.
