Transfer of activities failing.

Since Boxing Day I am unable to transfer any activities from 310xt. My device connected went through transfer process and stated history was full. I emptied old history, device reconnected but cleared my boxing day activity and the device switched off. came back today to download activity, it connected then went to transfer failed and device switched off, my activity wiped from watch. If I turn my watch on by the computer it immediately switches off???
