I have been using an Edge 500 and Connect to plot my mountain biking trips. Yesterday we did "about" 26 miles. When I download to Connect and view our course the route seems to be "point to point" in other words it does not show the many turns but rather more of a straight line connect the dots.
I had also brought along an older Garmin Etrex and my partner used Strava. We got milage of 26.1, 24 and 30.7.
Anybody know why? Does Garmin 500 take into account the multiple turns but only plots straight line?
I'm curious to know if we rode 26 0r 30 miles.
Not the end of the world but I'd like to know.
