Losing Canada

After I ran an update on my Garmin Nuvi 1350, it seems to have "lost" Canada! As soon as I cross the border the map shows a blank space and "Driving North" instead of showing the name of the road or highway. If I try search for a Canadian address, it does list Canada when try to change country. It does offer "Cayman Islands".

Could an update cause the existing Canada maps to be deleted? Is there a fix?

I assume you installed the City Navigator North America 2014.30 map update. The complete maps of North America won't fit on a 13xx/14xx unit. Most likely the map updater defaulted to installing the "Lower 49" US states (i.e. no maps of Canada).

Rerun the map updater this time selecting Canada (and deselecting other parts of the map).

PS: Map updates replace whatever already exists on your unit.
