Garmin Monterra Navigation map missing data field degrees

While hiking, and in the maps application, I'll click on a spot I'd like to navigate to. The data fields available for navigation are: Bearing, Course, Heading and To Course. These options only show N, E, S, W as indicators of the direction to the point. What it fails to show is the degrees or mils to the point I've selected on the map. Why? This must be a software error because it doesn't make sense for Bearing, Course, heading and to Course to all state the same information. What one of these fields need to show is the direction in degrees or mils to the point you've selected or a waypoint. This way the user can see in another data field if they're off on the course or use the Sight'N Go Application instead of the map. The only data field even close to help with navigation would be, "off course". Which doesn't help if one is wanting to know what degrees they're needing to head to use the other application, "Sight'N Go. I have all available software updates installed so this obviously is either oversight or a bug needing to be addressed. Any help?

    Problem solved

The user preference to change data fields in map would be found in compass settings. There you can change the data field to degrees or mils. ;) You'd think all the settings to change ANYTHING would be found in any application. Not just compass. who would have thought to change settings in Map, you need to change settings in compass?
  • It's because your changing a compass setting. Its like that in all handhelds.
