Battery won't last

My battery won't last after I have been for a run. My GPS must be staying on. How can I be sure it's off?

It would help to know what model you have. Typically, if the screen is blank, it's off. If you are forgetting to turn it off, then see if there is an 'auto-shutdown' setting and enable it.
