Player Stopped Working - Figured out Disabling Elevation Correction is Culprit

I uploaded data 6 Oct and all was fine.

I uploaded data on 5 & 9 Nov and nothing happens in the "Player" when I click "Play".

I've been checking back daily to see if it started working and it has not.

This is the case with all of the data I have ever uploaded - everything always played before.

While Googling the subject I stumbled across someone else's Player link and was surprised when it worked while none of mine do!

I just discover that if I do NOT disable elevation correction it works - if I disable elevation correction it DOES NOT work. As I use this for sailing, I always disable elevation.

Does not work with elevation correction enabled or disabled

I have the same problem. All routes that played earlier are completely messed up. Enabling/disabling elevation correction does not matter.

I have tried this on a Mac with Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and on a PC with Chrome - always the same result.

I opened a case with Garmin, and am working with the rep, who seems fairly clueless so far. Hopefully, will get some proper answers soon.

Found the problem - I think

Here's how the link looks if I just click the "Player" button:

    http://connect.garmin.com/jsPlayer/405049453

If I replace "jsPlayer" with "player", as below, I get what I am used to seeing. No idea when/why this migration was made, but it clearly breaks stuff.

    http://connect.garmin.com/player/405049453

Bug in the JavaScript version of the page? Is the other one Flash based? Not a clue ...

THANK YOU!!! The screwed up player has been driving me crazy the past few weeks and I did just what you said- replacing "jsPlayer" with "player" and it's back to how it should be.

Nice - that works here as well.

I wasn't able to get it to work by re-enabling elevation but by reuploading the file and not disabling elevation correction.

Another thing that modifying the URL does is when you go to full screen, the botton pane gets larger. Along with the changes "they" made that caused the breakage when elevation correction was disabled, the bottom pane stays the same size even in full screen mode wasting the bottom third of the screen.

I too tried working with a CS Rep. Granted this service is free, but this was the most inept CS Rep I have ever dealt with period.

    Hi guys,

I've got exactly this same problem but i don't understand how to replicate the fix that you've found. When i load the player the url contains 'jsPlayer' so i've tried deleting the 'js' bit and reloading the url but the page no longer exists. I guess i'm an IT noob so any help would be much appreciated,

    Thanks
    Andy

First, the player is playing again here - the bottom pane still stays the same size when going to full screen though.

You need to replace "jsP" with "p" - URL is case sensitive.
