I am having an issue with my Montana. When I plug my Montana into my Mac and start BaseCamp all is fine. It loads my Montana and I can see all my tracks and other info. then when I unplug it and look on my Montana it says there are no tracks?. With it plugged into the mac and I go to finder and look under the montana and go to Garmin and GPX fILE my most of the tracks are there then the rest are just numbered? but i can't see any of these on my Montana ?
  • In your track setup on the 650, you might need to tell it to "show on map" in the record options.

I would like to but there are no tracks to do that.
  • Did u set them in the menu?

    Recording Track Logs
    1. Select > Setup > Tracks > Track Log.
    2. Select Record, Do Not Show or Record, Show on Map.
If you select Record, Show on Map, a line on the map indicates your track.
    3. Select Record Method.
    4. Select an option:
    • To record tracks at a variable rate that creates an optimum representation of your tracks, select Auto.

  • So are you saying the tracks no longer exist on the montana? If that's the case, and you have them saved in Basecamp on your Mac, then can't you send them back to your montana?

The tracks may be "archived" on the unit.

Just wondering: Are the tracks archived on the unit? If so, you have to look in and edit the archive, to make each track you want to see a "favorite" individually.....
(There is no automated option to select all tracks and archive/make favorite. Nor is there an option to select all "favorite tracks" and show/hide on map.) :(
  • Garmin desperately needs to add an "On The Trail" forum section (like in the European forums).
Are you suggesting that GARMIN operates a separate set of forums for Europe? I don't think they do, but I don't mind being proven wrong.

The lack of a "on the trail" forum or "on the road", "on the water", etc., is likely more to do with Garmins corporate structure for its product divisions and the lack of interest by the management in those divisions to participate in the forums. It is possible that this forum is entirely under the control of it's "fitness" division.

I have done that. Then when you check the unit through the computer directory they show up. Then when you check the unit there is nothing there. nothing under Archived either? So I then resend them to the unit again they look as though they are there but when I check again nothing ?
