I just bought a pair of Rino 655t's and I'm having trouble with the "Send note" feature. Each radio is set on the same channel and squelch and when I send a note from one unit to the other they both act like everything went just fine but the not usually doesn't appear on the unit it is being sent to. They both make the tones as though the note was sent and received but there are no notes when you open the note file. I have figured out that if I hit the "ping" button to locate the unit I am sending to I have a much better chance of that note being delivered. The directions say nothing of having to locate the other device before sending a note so I'm not really sure if this is suppose to be standard procedure. Sometimes the note will be delivered even if I don't hit the locate (ping) button and even when I do hit the locate button it doesn't always allow the note to be sent. Anybody else got this figured out??
I'm running into a similar issue with my Rino 650.
I can send messages and they pop up on the other device, but nothing gets stored in the NOTES section (so I can't see notes which I sent or notes which I received).
The functionality works fine on my friends 650 (messages are stored) as long as the units are close together. The only difference I found is that they have a 4gb micro sd card installed and I have the ONX Map card installed.
I'm using an ONX Map card, and I think that may be interfering with the functionality.
Maybe Rino stores the messages on the micro sd card instead of in the units memory.
