No roads shown in Spain on holidays 765t lifetime Europe

Hi,
I have been using my 756T Nuvi since 2010 and we live in Ireland. I purchased a Lifetime Europe Download in 2010.

This year, when I switch on the unit in Lanzarote, no roads are shown on the island.

When I go to Tools, Settings, Map Info I see two maps.
CN Europe NT 2014.30 3D
and
CN Europe NT 2014.30 which has [1]UK & Ireland underneath it.

Why no mention of Europe…..? Why only mention UK & Ireland?

Any help appreciated.

Best Wishes,
Dave

I have updated this thread, as i found a solution and am now downloading maps for Spain and Portugal which i must have omitted previously.
  • I suggest you run GarminMapUpdater for PC, click on View Options and then select the correct area.

  • What map was on your nuvi when it was purchased new? Garmin does not let you "expand" map coverage from what originally came on the unit by purchasing a continent wide map update.
  • While generally that's true, and it also used to apply to EU maps, it's different now for EU maps https://buy.garmin.com/en-GB/GB/prod33380.html?utm_source=GarminEMEA&utm_medium=GarminLandingPage&utm_campaign=EMEA-nuMaps

    The relevant bit is here:

Navigate reassured you’ve always got the latest maps for Europe on your Garmin sat-nav with all the new businesses, street changes and junction alterations. This one-off purchase lets you refresh your maps with updated points of interest, routes and address data for the lifetime of your individual Garmin GPS as soon as new content is available. Simply enter the product key into myGarmin™ and download your new set of map updates up to 4 times a year. Even if your original maps just covered a single region, nüMaps upgrades 1 device for the whole of Europe so you enjoy a Lifetime of confident navigation. SD card may be required.

Now that wasn't true when the OP bought his lifetime maps, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt that he had the full EU map at some stage as that's what he was trying to update. He appears to have fixed the issue according to the note he's now put on his first post.

    Problem resolved

When i bought the unit it had Europe wide maps.

I only realized what the problem was.

Last year i tried to update to the latest maps for Europe and there was not enough space on the device. Instead of buying a SD card as i was in a hurry..... i deleted the current Europe wide map and only downloaded Ireland and the UK. As i was rushing, i had forgotten that i switched from Europe wide to IRL & UK only.

As we are in Spain at present, i went into Garmin Express and selected to download Spain and Portugal map.

    It is all sorted now.

Thanks for your replies, and great to see this Forum so active.
