hi guys

new here.

signed up for Paris marathon so i was looking at the training plans on here.

can any body tell me who the levels are aimed at.

i have set myself as level two heart rate

i have done a few half's, tens , 10ks loads of park runs and club runs.

i am expecting, hoping to finish in 4 hrs, is this the right plan for me.

ps can these plans be downloaded to a garmin 610?

    training plan levels

I too would like to know what exactly the levels on the training plans refer to.

Me too. I sort of assumed they were what used to be Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced (or something similar) but this is a more politically correct way of stating them
  • I would also like to know the answer to this. I'm three workouts away from finishing the 5K Level 1 plan, and it was too easy at first but good now toward the middle/end. Now I have to decide between 10K Level 1 or Level 2.
  • Not sure there is an easy answer to the question about who they are aimed at. Particularly if you are doing HR based training then the zones and therefore the efforts should be tailored to your level. The key is whether the number and length of training sessions is applicable to your current levels. Bear in mind the rule of thumb that you don't want to increase training volume by more than 10% per week also if you are used to doing 1 intense session per week (intervals hills etc) don't go straight to doing 4 Interval sessions per week. You may be better off looking elsewhere for plans that suit you and loading them manually to connect - it takes longer but is worth it to get exactly what you want.

As to whether they upload to the 610 - yes they do - I've used some of them - although there are some users on the forum with 610's who are having problems uploading - but they work for me.

    Hello,
    First time here!
I just bought the Forerunner 620, and I went to get a training plan. However, all plans seem to be designed with running times in mind. I am more used to plans telling me how many runs I should be running. Is there any way I can do this with Garmin connect?
Sorry if this is not the place to ask this question. Let me know where I should go instead.
    Thanks!
