As I can't find an apropriate spot on the forum I'll ask it here..
Is there a way to report SPAM?
Is there a way to turn on the avatar?
Where should I have asked these questions in the first place?

To report spam, open the post. Click on the small triangle with an exclamation mark inside it. Fill in the message with the reason you are reporting it, then click "Send Report." The message will be sent to all moderators via email and to the moderators forum.

There is no specific location for forum questions, but The Water Cooler is a catch all for just about anything. I have moved your post to that forum.

Thanks for pointing me to "The Water Cooler", had to find out where my post went first :) .
I've spotted the

so I will use that when I find Spam.
(I saw post that contained more than 20 links pointing to what would be movies or so)
Leave me with one question, the one about the avatar. It's probably reserved for moderators and employees, isn't it?

Like you, I am new to this and struggling 1. to find out how to post a new post and 2. how to find out where best to post it?

Any advice will be gratefully received, thanks

Look at the forum titles, that should show where to post. To start a new thread go to the forum you want and click the button top left that says post new thread.

I have just bought a new Dakota 20 and have a question about maps on it, inparticular OS maps. Can you suggest the right forum for that?

There are NO forums for Outdoor (such as the Dakota 20) or Automotive models. If you have map issues I'd post in

Ok thanks Stuart but so incredible no Outdoor forums for what after all is a company selling outdoor devices!

Appreciate your help and I will try the PC forum you suggested.

It is what it is.... the forum. I guess only Garmin's fitness device division was interested in a forum when this was created. However there is a pretty good forum over here for users of Garmins other devices ---> http://forums.gpsreview.net/
