Garmin 2797 Issue

Bought a new 2797 for a 5,000 mile trip I just completed today. Decided to not make any reservations in advance for this trip..............but planned on using the RV Parks and Campgrounds locating option. Downloaded the latest downloads the day before the trip. Turns out that 80% or more of the addresses given were non-existant. When I typed known place names in the search engine, I'd get "not available" type responses. This unit did fine on all the navigation, but finding places it sucks! My old Garmin 260 didn't lead me astray as much as this new and fancy 2797 did!
  • A lot of us are finding out that the new nuvis don't quite cut it. Might be just because the interface operation and a few things are defined differently and it just a 'user' learning curve. However, some of us with older units are hoping they don't break anytime too soon. But if you don't get an answer here, then try this forum -> http://forums.gpsreview.net/

Disappointing, for sure. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Yes you guys are right, I had a Garmin 3790T and that was top of the line, now Garmin came with a 7" unit and for my older eye's that came just right but I'm already dissapointed, no speed cams and no redlight cams are available for this unit (Garmin told me that via eMail). I mean for a unit for over $200.00 it should be more do than just navigation and those little things like bluetooth and voice command.
Next thing what I don't like is that there is no way to get rid of those buildin Poi's, they are very disturbing while driving with GPS.
I sold my old 3790T (big mistake) and miss it already.
