Batter died during firmware download. Now unti won't charge

My Garmin Nuvi 3490 battery died during firmware and map update and now (1) it won't take a charge - I assume because the firmware is scrambled and (2) Garmin Express won't recognize the unit since it can't turn on. What can I do?
