deleting mass activities from my device

I have three years of activity on my Edge 500 and need to remove a lot. Ideally I'd like to keep what's in the device only from 2013.

Is there a way I can manage activity deletion from my device via web interface? scrolling one-by-one for 300+ activitie would be rediculous.

thanks!!
  • You probably can connect your edge to your pc/mac, browse to the Garmin/activities folders and delete them from your PC. However, before you do that, save all your .fit files to a drive on your computer. One day the Garmin Connect or whatever website you use may not suit you any more and you might want to put that data on the new site. I've got a .bat file that sits on my desktop, almost every time I upload, I also run that batch file and it copies all the new activities to my backup storage.

Word of warning though..... I've never deleted files via my PC. However I have added some back, and when I restarted my edge500, it spent a long time at the splash screen. I think it may have been cataloging those new files. Don't know if that would be the case with deletions.

And you might want to get a few more opinions before trying this. But I personally don't mind experimenting and having 'bad' results, so I'd go for it without hesitation myself.
