Uploads "new" activities all the time!

Whenever I connect my Edge 500 and select "Upload new activities" on the Connect site it always adds some rides that have previously been uploaded. It looks like these rides are ones that I imported in to the 500 from my previous Edge 200.

What can I do?

Actually it's not uploading those files and creating new ones but it does seem to always upload them and then overwrite the ones that are currently there with the same data?!?!

Do you need to keep those old activities on your edge? Just copy all your .fit files from the activities folder to another drive to save them for posterity then delete the ones on your device. You can alway load back any you might temporarily need. You'll find that you get quicker uploads. There have been posts that indicate the edge500 starts to really act flakey when free memory starts to get limited.

Thanks for this. No, I don't suppose I do need them. So probably best just delete them - I've got all the data on the Connect site anyway and as long as store those files in an archive folder, all will be good.

make sure the archive folder is on your local computer. You might find it a 'pain' one day when Garmin Connect not longer meets your needs. I'm not even sure you can export the .fit file with all your 'raw' data back from GC. Never looked.
